Signaling Torque Wrenches
Type II – is preset to a specific setpoint, triggers a perceptible/audible signal when reached. The following variants can be encountered:
- Releasing torque wrench (aka "click type" or "clicker")
- Target value is preset
- Reaching the set value triggers a signal
- Application of force must be stopped by the user - Breaking torque wrench (aka "bending wrench" or "break-over")
- Target value is preset
- When the set value is reached, the spanner physically buckles; minimises vibration of assemblies
- Application of force is interrupted - Slipping torque wrench (aka "slipper" or "cam-over")
- Target value is preset
- Reaching the set value leads to mechanical overrun/slip
- Force is interrupted
