Indicating Torque Wrenches
Type I – shows the applied torque value via a mechanical scale, a dial gauge or an electronic display ("test spanner" or "measuring spanner"). The following variants can be encountered:
- Direct-reading torque wrench (aka "pointer spanner" and "clock spanner")
- Simplest form with bending beam lever
- Tightening value is directly indicated by a mechanical scale or dial gauge
- Application of force must be stopped by the user
- Electronic torque wrench
- Target value is preset
- Reaching the set value triggers a signal (audible, visual)
- Application of force must be stopped by user
- Suitable for documentation purposes
- Electronic torque/angle wrench
- Target value is preset
- Supplementary measurement of the angle of rotation
- Reaching the set value triggers a signal (audible, visual)
- Application of force must be stopped by user
- Suitable for documentation purposes
- Mechatronic torque wrench
- Target value is preset
- Reaching the set value triggers a signal (audible, visual, tactile)
- Mechanical and digital measurement
- Application of force must be stopped by user
