Sturtevant Richmont Exacta 2 Digital Torque Wrench
Documented Error-Proof Torque Control for Assembly Operations
Sturtevant Richmont's Exacta 2 line sets a new standard for digital torque wrench performance in assembly, maintenance and auditing. Better still, this new design as robust as it is accurate and reliable. The three modes of operation on board – Track, Peak and Residual – permit use in almost every circumstance. Programmable limits with visual notification. Supplementing the visual information are audible prompts from a beeper. You’ll always know when the torque is right. The Residual mode assists the user in determining retained torque on a joint.
Exacta 2 has a Yellow/Green/Red illumination system to guide you as you use the wrench. The display and a raised lens on the back of the wrench both illuminate when each significant torque value is reached. An LED provides a Yellow/Orange light as you approach the minimum torque specification. The light turns Green when you reach the minimum torque, and remains green until you either stop pulling on the wrench or the maximum torque specification is attained. If you overtorque, it turns bright Red to let you know. Just pull to Green!
Fatures and Benefits
- Bi-directional accuracy of ± 1% of Indicated Value from 20% to 100% of capacity in Track and Peak modes meets or exceeds requirements of ASME B107.29M and ISO 6789.
- Large, bright display can be read at arms length, even in shadow.
- Yellow/Green/Red color scheme informs operator of tightening status.
- Simple front panel programming. Four keyswitches on the front of the Exacta 2 electronics module permit programming and operation of all key functions.
- 999 memory locations can be accessed, reviewed, uploaded and printed.
- Thousands of cycles between battery charges.
- Rugged aluminium electronics housing for durability.
- FREE certification from ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited Calibration Laboratory!
Exacta 2 comes with a serial cable for communication with a PC, and can download readings as they are taken, or in a batch mode! The readings can be saved as a text file and imported by almost any statistical or spreadsheet software. This is an invaluable aid when performing process design and process analysis!
Options / Accs / Spares
- Four of six models offer the SR dovetail so you can use almost any of over 100 SR interchangeable heads which you will find in section Torque Wrenches.
- Free Exawin software for programming Exacta® 2 from a PC. The Exawin software permits downloading maximum and minimum torque limits, units of measure and other key operating functions directly from a PC. It does so with ease and simplicity.
- Needs four (4) NiMH rechargeable batteries AA-2200 (IEC HR6). Do NOT use other NiMH batteries in these tools. Other batteries do not have the same operating characteristics and can deliver reduced accuracy and/or damage the tool. Do NOT use Alkaline batteries in these tools. Using alkaline batteries will damage the tools and such damage is not covered by warranty.
- Replacement batteries, pack of four, 2200 mAh NiMH rechargeable, # R21258.
An Important Note About Our NiMH Battery Selection
The Exacta 2 circuit board is designed on the highly consistent 1.2-volt power curve provided by rechargeable NiMH batteries. Other batteries like Alkaline or Lithium batteries provide 1.5 volts in the power curve. The additional voltage will damage the circuit board.
Exacta 2 with Quick Change dovetail head (QC)
For those applications where rapid and frequent head size changes are required SR offers the Quick Change heads. The regular dovetail use the pin and spring embedded in the dovetail. The Quick Change dovetail uses a ball bearing and spring which facilitates the use of thumb power. Rather than using a small, flat head screwdriver or our CART tool to depress the pin and remove the head, at customer request SR designed these wrenches to make a head change only using pressure from your thumb.
Everything had a trade off. While the QC style dovetail makes interchangeable head changes very fast, size and torque limitations come into play. We recommend that you use heads of 1 1/4 inches or smaller and 250 ft lbs (339 Nm) is the highest torque level where the QC configuration can be used. Your safety is always our concern.

Table is showing the torque ranges specified by manufacturer. Usage in the medium range (approx. 1/3 to 4/5 of rated capacity) is recommended. If you would regularly work close to the load capacity limit, a larger tool may be more recommendable.
